The Art Of Logging
I’ve been reading a book called “Judgment – How Winning Leaders Make Great Calls” by Noel Tichy and Warren Bennis. “What can be said for sure is that judgment is the core, the nucleus of leadership. And that in decision making, the only thing that counts is winning or losing. The results matter—nothing else.” Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort.
In my experience, I have noticed that surveillance managers deal with vast amounts of information on a daily basis and are in a better position to make good judgment calls when they have software tools to manage the information. The first step in the process is to spend time looking at the results you want to achieve which has a big impact on how the logging software needs to be setup and customized. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results.
