We will be at Goldenhorse Casino next week implementing the first live release of “Goggles”… Continue reading

Stress Free Surveillance Room

As I mentioned last week, I needed to “get a life” as I’m sure my family wanted to run a mile from my grumpiness. One of the “life sappers” I identified was following up on people.

Managing people can be stressful when you constantly have to follow up on them. As a result you take this stress with you when you leave the office. A while ago, I added… Continue reading

Unleashed Surveillance Room Software

My life revolves around the software lab but I realized recently that I need to “get a life” outside the lab otherwise our software will eventually suffer. Software will become canned if the producers have “no life” outside the lab. We’ve got some exciting upgrades taking place to ICOS over the next few months (yes I’ve managed to “get a life” outside the software lab which has brought… Continue reading

Quality Surveillance Room

I re-visited a coffee shop in a part of my city I have not visited for a while. I left early for my meeting so that I could spend some time preparing in the small cozy coffee shop. However, to my surprise it’s no longer small and further to my surprise growth has not affected the service and quality.

Well Managed Surveillance Rooms

The game rangers at the lodge gave us some “trail advice” on Tuesday which we followed and came across a lion gorging himself on a hippo. Word of mouth had spread… Continue reading

Surviving Surveillance Rooms

Below is a picture of Silverstar Casino’s Water Extravaganza that is under maintenance. A far cry from the real thing! I took the picture from my hotel room and needless to say, I was disappointed to find out that it was under maintenance when I arrived. It made me think about some maintenance I need in my own life. Work, work and no play as they say!… Continue reading

Reliable Sources Empower

On my way to the airport this morning it was dark and pouring with rain. I wondered if my friend’s new roadside coffee venture would be operating. Yes it was! On my way back I took some photos to show you what a reliable coffee source looks like. By the way, they produce the best cappuccino in Cape Town at the best price.

Detecting Collusion

I recently received an email from one of the users of our casino logging software. I quote, “If your casino has been losing for a few days in a row and you investigate that it has been three or four players that have been winning, then it is nice to see if there is any consistency in relation to the staff that are dealing and/or supervising the tables to which… Continue reading | 1 Comment
