Casino Takedowns
I’m busy reading “Takedown” in preparation for next month’s World Game Protection Conference. The book is written by Tsutomu Shimomura and he recounts how he pursued Kevin Mitnick, the worlds most wanted computer criminal.
Kevin is now a consultant and will be the keynote speaker at the conference. Through two casino-specific case studies, he’ll reveal the hair-raising details of a real-life social engineering scam and computer break-ins, how the perpetrators hacked in and how they successfully covered their tracks. He will then be sharing on how to prevent these same horror stories from being repeated. In addition, he will provide cost-effective counter measures and indispensable tips for bringing everyone in an organization on-board to offer maximum protection.
According to Noah Turner in iGaming Business Magazine (Dec 2008), The Bigger They Are, the Harder they Fall, “Compliance should never be overlooked. Failing to keep up can mean failing to make money. Administrative tools help an organization protect itself from the damaging effects of negligence and fraud both by external sources and an organization’s own staff, by ensuring that policies and procedures are strictly followed.”
I’m looking forward to gaining some valuable insight to share with our followers.
