Visionary Surveillance (Part 4)

By Graeme • December 13th, 2009

I spoke to a teacher recently who was complaining about parents not doing what they were asked to do at the beginning of the school year. I asked how many times she had communicated to the parents regarding this particular aspect of school life. Her answer was “I told them at the beginning of the year.”

Vision does not stick immediately. The people we’re leading often don’t experience the same problems we as leaders do, therefore we need to constantly be communicating vision in inspiring ways.

Point to consider number 4: Constantly communicate your vision

If you’re leading a surveillance team and feel like the teacher I mentioned above, then maybe you need to reflect on the past year and ask yourself the question: “am I constantly communicating my vision in inspiring ways”.

I hope you’ve found this 4 part “Visionary Surveillance” series helpful and looking forward to leading your team well in 2010. It’s great to be part a team that has a visionary leader!
